Monthly Hike - McDowell Sonoran Preserve

Come join us on our new monthly hike program! These hikes are your opportunity to meet AWF staff, learn about the important conservation work being done in Arizona, and learn some new naturalist skills — all while getting outdoors.

This month, we will be exploring the McDowell Sonoran Preserve while learning how to use the INaturalist mobile app to identify flora and fauna. We will be hiking the Lost Dog – Ringtail Trail, which is a 2.4-mile loop and has many gradual ups and downs with little overall elevation change. Lost Dog Overlook has excellent views south and is an ancient tool-making site — some of the rock flakes are from prehistoric tool-making work!

Note — McDowell Sonoran Preserve is pet-friendly.
